In our last blog, we talked about some of the things rookies do in a fitness center that is not very helpful for them if the have a goal that they want to reach. We talked about how many beginners often push themselves too far to start with which can cause a person to fail and give up. We also talked about how not tracking your progress can actually hurt you and that you need to have a plan when you get into the fitness center.  We want to talk about more things that can hurt you as a beginner trying to get into shape.


Many fitness beginners think they can take a bunch of supplements to get the results they are looking for, whether it is losing weight or gaining muscle. But what they may not understand is that supplements are useless if you have a poor diet. You need a diet that will help you achieve your goals.

Warm up

Warming up is one of the most important things you can do for your body and many beginners just walk into a fitness center and start going for it. You need to job for a few minutes or do some stretches to warm up your muscles. This can also help you avoid cramping during your workout.

No leg work

Many beginners believe things, like running, playing soccer or riding a bike, helps work out your legs. The truth is, these exercises are usually great for cardio but if you are looking to build muscles in your legs, you are going to have to put some weight on your shoulders or back and squat or do other exercises that use your legs.
